Accompanied by graphic artist and painter L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Ujv\u00e1rossy, visitors will be able to explore his artistic oeuvre and discover the stories behind the creation of his works.<br\/><br\/>The exhibition, entitled <em>Stepping Outside the Frame<\/em>, opened in July and presents a selection of the artistic, graphic and pedagogical work of the artist, who turns 71 this year, alongside his installations created from the most unexpected materials. The exhibition traces his artistic journey from the beginnings of his career in the 1980s to the present day.<br\/><br\/>\u201cBy nature, I have always stepped outside the frame&#8230; The desire to transform tradition later gave me the courage to pursue numerous interdisciplinary projects: I treated analogue photographs and embroidered textiles as drawings, embroidery patterns as engravings, photomontage through offset printing, and serial graphics as spatial installations.\u201d His artistic vision is intertwined with a reflection on life, which he encapsulates in the idea that the fleeting happiness that comes our way is overshadowed, when viewed from the side, by the adoration of power, and, when viewed from behind, by concern for the loved ones who will come after us.<br\/><br\/>A recipient of the Mih\u00e1ly Munk\u00e1csy Award and a member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Ujv\u00e1rossy first rebelled against the communist regime as one of the young talents of Workshop 35, considered progressive in Romania at the time. His work spans a wide range of fields: he designed periodicals and shop windows and taught children with disabilities.
